CHRISTOPHER J. GUILLORY, Attorney
On a foundation of integrity and professionalism, Christopher J. Guillory has represented a wide variety of clients since 2004, from individual people to small businesses to large corporations as both Plaintiff and Defendant, involving an extensive range of legal issues. Christopher has recovered millions of dollars for his clients over more than two decades of experience. His legal-versus-practical scaled approach toward creatively resolving disputes, his thorough research capabilities and ability to find the needle in the haystack, his knack to explain complex information in a simple and easy-to-understand manner, and his ability to connect with people from all backgrounds have served his clients well through numerous challenging disputes and litigation matters.
After working for two Fortune 500 corporations in the New Orleans area (United Healthcare and Entergy) in corporate communications involving various sensitive issues, Christopher attended law school at LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he received a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law in 2004. While many other law students elected not to work during law school, Christopher obtained invaluable practical experience while clerking during his second and third years of law school at Graves Carley, a Baton Rouge law firm primarily practicing construction and real estate law including real estate transactions as well as commercial litigation, personal injury matters, and insurance issues. Christopher then worked as an associate attorney after graduating from law school at Graves Carley, and also helped to start Signature Title, a title company in Baton Rouge.
Christopher then moved back home to the Lake Charles area in 2005 to work at The Gray Law Firm in Lake Charles, where he had a wide-ranging legal practice including commercial contract disputes, construction law and real estate issues, oil and gas issues, personal injury premises liability insurance defense, and hurricane-related insurance matters. Christopher then branched out to start his own private solo practice in 2009, and has built a successful practice in Moss Bluff (an unincorporated suburban area just north of Lake Charles) over the last two decades, predominantly on repeat business from prior clients and word-of-mouth referrals. He continues to practice in Moss Bluff.
Christopher is licensed to practice in all state district and appellate courts of the State of Louisiana, the Supreme Court of Louisiana, the U.S. Western, Middle, and Eastern federal district courts of Louisiana, and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, based in New Orleans.
Christopher also is qualified to resolve cases at mediation as a Mediator, having completed intensive and highly respected training through Pepperdine University's Caruso School of Law "Mediating the Litigated Case" program in 2023.
Christopher graduated from Sulphur High School in 1994 and obtained his undergraduate bachelor's degree from McNeese State University in 1998 in mass communication with an emphasis in journalism. A Sulphur native who has proudly called Moss Bluff his home since 2005, Christopher's prior work experience also includes working as sports editor and sports writer for Southwest Daily News, Moss Bluff News, Westlake News, and Iowa News from 1997-1999.
Christopher has been married to Kimberly (Fontenot) Guillory, an occupational therapist and Moss Bluff native who graduated from Sam Houston High School (Class of '96) and LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans (Class of '01), for 26 years. They have two children, Grant and Abigail, who are both exceptional students while being highly involved in multiple academic and athletic extracurricular activities. Christopher also has been a sponsor and coach for numerous children's recreational sports, and as a Partner in Education for Moss Bluff Elementary School. He also is a sponsor for various Sam Houston High School athletics programs.
